Last six days of free MyCiTi shuttle for vaccinations in Atlantis
19 December 2021
The City of Cape Town wants to remind residents in Atlantis that the free MyCiTi shuttle service to the Atlantis vaccination site at the Saxonsea Community Hall is still running. The free shuttle service has been very popular – up to 361 commuters used the service from 6 to 15 December 2021. The service will be available up until 24 December 2021. Read more below
The MyCiTi shuttle service operates between the Starke bus stop in Charel Uys Drive and the Saxonsea Community Hall via the Protea Park, Atlantis MyCiTi station and Wesfleur area.
The service is free for everyone to use and is operating every 20 minutes as follows:
• Weekdays from 07:30 to 15:10
• Saturdays from 07:30 to 12:10
The buses are clearly marked as a shuttle service with posters on the front so that commuters can easily identify them.
‘I am truly encouraged by the uptake of the free shuttle to the vaccination site since it started operating. I want to urge residents in Atlantis who have not been vaccinated as yet, to please make use of this opportunity and not to delay protecting themselves from Covid-19. This year, we once again face a very uncertain festive season, but we have hope, and our hope is the vaccine. Let your unvaccinated loved ones know about this free shuttle and get them to the vaccination site,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
All commuters are reminded of the health and safety protocols related to Covid-19: please wear a mask at all times, practice a safe social distance, and sanitise or wash hands often.
